Our Union Gave 300+ Books to the Hilltop Community

Thanks to a partnership with AFT and First Book, we gave away over 300 new books on Saturday, August 23, at the first-ever Hilltop Street Fair located in Tacoma's inner city.

According to Barb Randall-Saleh, "We had such a good time connecting with the children as we gave them the gift of free books." They were also able to educate people about the work that paraeducators do in the schools. Maria Haynes, Diane Hollstrom, Debbie Scott, and Donna Mairs also participated. Thank you to Pierce College instructor and AFT member Tom McCarthy one of the organizers of the street fair.
